What Is Love Your Landlord?

Love Your Landlord is a landlord and letting agent review website. It gives users the opportunity to both review a landlord or letting agent and read the reviews of others. It enables users to find out about other peoples experiences of an agent or landlord - especially useful if they are thinking of renting a property from them.

Why has it been set up?

It has been set up to give people the opourtunity to share their experiences. A lot of rental properties are poorly managed and in a poor state of repair and this can have a huge impact on the quality of peoples lives. The site has been set up to help people make a more informed choice before they rent their next home.

On the other side of that, a lot of properties are very well run and are great to live in and these are the ones we would like to reward. We want to encourage landlords and agents to become better at what they do, and help improve the homes people live in.

Is the site only for students?

No. The site is for anyone and everyone who rents their home from a private landlord or letting agent. This means both students and non-students. We cannot accept reviews of homes under housing associations schemes or any other rentals of this nature.

Do I have to pay to use this site?

No, this site is free to use. You will need to register a username to be able to post a review or to read the reviews of others. Registration is free and simple. You will also need to be a registered user if you wish to take part in the forum discussions.

Can I write whatever I want in my reviews?

Yes and No. The aim of the site is to become a useful place to find out about the pros and cons of a particular landlord or letting agent. This means that you are allowed to put honest comments - both good and bad -  about them. However it is not a place to come to verbally attack or threaten a landlord you have had a dispute with. The most useful reviews will be those that are constructive and honest, we want the reviews to be helpful to the others who will be reading them. Any inappropriate reviews will be removed.

Do you read the reviews before they are made availible to other users?

No, we do not. All reviews become available online immediately after you submit the information. For this reason we ask that you make sure you are happy taking responsibility for its content before completing the submission. We do spend a considererable amount of time reading the reviews to ensure their is no inappropriate content. We would also ask that you report to us any inappropriate reviews you may come across that we may have missed.

Do you edit the reviews before they are made available to other users?

No. Once you have pressed the button to submit the review it is immediately made available online. Even during our checking of the reviews we will not edit or alter any content - not even to correct spelling mistakes!

I want to edit/delete my review, can I do this?

Yes, you will be able to edit your review after it has been submitted, however you will not be able to delete it. If you would like us to remove it for you lpease use the Contact page or e-mail enquiries@loveyourlandlord.co.uk. Please note we reserve the right to apply a small charge for doing this.

How do I inform you about inappropriate reviews?

There are two ways of doing this. You may use the contact form - available in the 'Contact' tab at the top of the page. Or you may email us at enquiries@loveyourlandlord.co.uk In both instances please include as much information as possible about the review - to make it easier for us to locate - and why you would like it removed. We will look at the review as quickly as possible and take your views into account when deciding whether it needs to be removed.

Will you notify me if my review is removed?

Yes. We will send you an email to advise you that it has been removed. This may be because it was too offensive and not suitable or we may simply have been informed that the information it contains is no longer valid. Either way we appreciate you taking the time to post the review and will only have removed it when completely necessary.

I'm interested in advertising on Love Your Landlord, how do I go about this?
